The Opening 21-Seconds of Illuminations
This stunning photo features the opening 21-seconds of the Illuminations: Reflections of Earth show at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center. I took the photo standing directly across from the American Pavilion, and framed the photo with two lamp posts and palm trees. The shot features 5 different fireworks explosions. The center white candy-cane shaped firework is the opening salvo that was fired from the American Pavilion.

Fireworks and Castles
This photo features some of the beautiful fireworks shot off during the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. There are many different layers to this wonderful fireworks show, and while most of the photos you see of it will include the iconic Cinderella's Castle, this one features the new Beast's Castle as the fireworks explode in the night sky behind it.

Red & Green Christmas Illuminations
I took this photo during an extended Illuminations that was put together for the Christmas season. I'm not sure how often they did this extended version and only saw it once of the three times I saw Illuminations on this trip. But it was fantastic and beautiful. In this shot, all of the fireworks are red and green, two traditional Christmas colors. I took the photo from the 2nd level balcony of the Teppan Edo restaurant in the Japan Pavilion at Walt Disney World's Epcot center.

Disney Christmas Wishes Fireworks
While standing on Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom, I took this (and other) photos of the fireworks show at the end of the night. This Wishes show was different from others as it also incorporated the Christmas Ice lighting on Cinderella's Castle.

Wishes Fireworks from the Transportation and Ticket Center
I have always spent my first night at Disney World watching (and photographing) the Wishes fireworks from the Transportation and Ticket Center across the Seven Seas Lagoon from Magic Kingdom. They have the music playing at the TTC, so you get the full effect of watching the fireworks and hearing the soundtrack. And, to be honest, it is the best place to get the full effect of all of the fireworks.

Red, White and Boom Fireworks in Minneapolis
I had just upgraded my camera from a Canon 30d to a Canon 60d a few days before the 4th of July this year, and was all excited to shoot the fireworks. Well, ok, I'm always excited to shoot fireworks, but this was with a much newer camera! And as I was getting set up is when my excitement ended. It wasn't until then that I learned that the camera remotes that fit my 30d didn't fit my 60d. That meant I had to touch the camera every shot. I still had the camera all set up on the tripod, but I had to hit the shutter button and hold it in by hand. I still captured the fireworks, but the very slight movement means the beautiful Minneapolis skyline is a just a bit blurry in the background. I already have new remotes, so next year I'll get a better shot of it.

Freedom Fest Fireworks
I made the 2 1/2 hour drive up to Duluth so that I could photograph their Fourth of July fireworks show, which was being advertised as the biggest fireworks display in the state. So, 2 1/2 hour drive there, 20 minutes of fireworks, 2 1/2 hour drive home. These better be some pretty good fireworks, right? Here are some of the photos I came away with. Clicking on each photo will give you a bigger view of that image.
